'Breck - My Life in Football' is the acclaimed autobiography of Rotherham United legend John Breckin - written in conjunction with Les Payne, the former Rotherham Advertiser and Sheffield Star journalist who covered The Millers for 45 years before retiring in 2014.

The book is raising funds for Rotherham Hospice, a cause close to Breck's heart.

To some, he is Mr Rotherham United.

To Millers fans, he’s a club legend.

To everyone, simply - ‘Breck’.

From toddler fan to life president, John Breckin’s association with the Millers tops 50 years - starting as an apprentice professional at 14. No-one knows the club better.

In Breck: My Life in Football, he reveals:

• The household name who throttled him

• How he might have joined Sheffield Wednesday

• The day he met Elton John

• The hardest journey of his life

• Abuse from his own supporters

• And the mental issues that arose.

    xxxxxxxx

Many Sports persons autobiographies fail to reflect on the the human side of ones lifestyle , situations ,problems and so forth .Others however well known and famous exhibit a frenetic approach to life in their sporting world .John and his colleague have produced a heartwarming story reflecting football ,its trials and tribulations, But very importantly detailing with the issues and personal tragedies that John has incurred, he is an excellent ambassador to the Football League..not forgetting "the millers"
